The snow grew stronger and stronger as they walked, black clouds obscuring the sky from view. This made things quite dark. Not like night time, now, more like... well, like a poorly lit room filled with glitter and small mirrors. You see, away from the mountain, it was not snowing. The light from there was reflecting off the snow as it settled.
However, this dark, cold atmasphere was bound to attract Dark or Ghost types, right? Sorena had better be careful. Nearby, a mound of snow had formed. It had a strange air about it. As Sorena moved closer, it wobbled, and a small chunk dropped off it. Was there something in there?

Sorena was now beginning to feel the worry seep into her as much as the cold was. Not to mention that she was beginning to question whether she was going in the right direction or not. Her Buizel had wrapped herself around Sorena's neck once more and was eyeing their surroundings, mostly interested in keeping her own paws from getting frozen.
However, the moving and suspicious mound of snow easily piqued Swish's interest. Eyeing the snow, the orange pokemon leaped from Sorena's shoulders and used a Sonicboom towards it to unattach the snow from it.

As the Buizel's Sonicboom attack sliced at the mound, the lump of snow grunted in annoyance and rose- slowly. It wasn't too hurt by the attack, it seemed, thankfully; the snow had shielded it from that. However, it's cover was blown and it wasn't too pleased with Sorena or Swish for that. A purply glimmer appeared at the top, from which followed the rest of the Pokémon.
It was a Ghost type. A Gastly, to be exact. The ghost moaned, red eyes fixing on Sorena and glaring hard at her. Gastly didn't seem to be happy, not in the least. It floated closer to the girl, before baring it's teeth at her. Then, without warning, it moved quicker than expected, aiming a Lick attack at Sorena.

Sorena's eyes widened when the ghost type emerged from the snow and was quite frightened when the purple pokemon rushed at her with its teeth bared. Not being one to ever do nothing, Swish quickly rushed to her aid. "Buizel!" the weasel cried in attempt to distract the ghost before using a Quick Attack. Of course, even Sorena knew that normal attacks would not have much use against the ghost type.
Frowning in annoyance, Sorena knew that the only other pokemon she had was the Delibird she'd just caught and who was in no state to fight. However, she did have a potion, but Sorena wasn't sure if it would work on a fainted pokemon. Despite these thoughts, the young girl placed her hand on the Delibird's pokeball and jumped away from the approaching Ghastly.

Swish, of course, passed right through Gastly. The Ghost type cackled, licking his lips as he advanced on the girl. Oh, joy. He'd haunt her until she ran screaming. Which wouldn't be that long... perhaps he'd have to follow her. Hehehe. That would be... good.
~Karp.~[/color] A voice expressing no emotion made Gastly look about in confusion. The next thing anyone knew, a black arm had shot out before disappearing again, and seemed to have through a Magikarp at Gastly. The Ghost type had fainted, and the Magikarp glowed softly for a moment as it gained some levels. OK, I'm pretty certain Magikarp don't randomly fly at things.

Swish was completely frustrated when she passed through the Ghost type and decided that any attack would merely do the same thing. Deciding to comfort Sorena, the Buizel jumped up and wrapped herself around her trainer's neck once more. Sorena, on the other hand, was thinking about trying to hit it with snow, when a glowing Magikarp ran right through the menacing Ghastly. "Um..." was all Sorena could manage at the moment, unsure of how to react to the strange Pokemon. If it even was a pokemon, because Sorena knew for a fact that Magikarp didn't fly or glow for that matter. Although, maybe it was a Magikarp and something was controlling it? Sorena was confused and so was her Buizel and neither knew what to do. Finally, Sorena managed to speak. "Thank you for helping us," she said. OoC;; Ugh, no muse

The Magikarp flopped weakly, seeming to be in ever way like a normal Magikarp. However, a figure of a man came from below. "You're welcome." he said, walking up and picking up the fish. This man wasn't like a normal man, however; he was a Pokémorph. This was unusual for grown ups, but hey. He appeared to be a Pokémorph of the Pokémon Sneasel, so it would be only natural that he were in a cold place like this.
"Hello, trainer. I live in a cottage not too far away, and I help out the wild Pokémon sometimes. This here Magikarp comes from a group where he is the leader, and he told me that he want to evolve so he can do that effectively. Well, I'm training him the quick way. Anyway, what brings you here?" he asked, curious.

Sorena was most definitely surprised when a man came into view, especially when she noticed his Pokemon features. Trying not to stare and be rude to their saviour, Sorena focused on the man's words and was secretly awed by the powers the Pokemorph had. Seeing the Sneasel-like attributes the man made sense to Sorena, although she wondered why he lived in a cottage in the mountains. Nervously giving Swish a reassuring pat, Sorena replied, "Well, I'm doing what Trainers do best, I guess. Which would be training." The girl gave a nervous laugh, unsure what the man would think.
"My Buizel, Swish, has some leveling up to do and I thought the mountains might be a good place to train," Sorena explained.

The man nodded. Training was, of course, what he'd expected Sorena to be doing, but hey, you never know. He smiled, tightening his grip on the Magikarp which had begun to flail about in his arm. It let out a loud noise, and he nodded. "Magikarp is tired and wants to return to his lake now. Do you want to come with me? The lake's right by my house, you can warm up and there are plenty of wild Pokémon about, too." he offered.

At the Pokemorph's offer, Sorena gave a nod, "Yes, please." Although she wasn't sure whether this was a good idea or not, after all she didn't know this man, but Sorena was afraid that she wouldn't be able to find her way out of the mountains. Besides, Swish needed more training and the lake might have easier wild Pokemon to handle. Swish quickly reestablished her spot around Sorena's neck as Sorena got ready to follow the man to his home. //OoC: museFail

The house was, indeed, toasty warm. Magikarp was dropped off at a pond, while the man and Sorena continued to head inside a nice, cheery, cosy house. Inside, they were met by a Larvitar. The man greeted the Pokémon with a smile, and the Pokémon smiled back at him but frowned at Sorena. "This Larvitar comes here every now and then. It doesn't really like the life of a wild Pokémon much." he explained to her. Larvitar said something, and he smiled. "Larvitar suggested that you battle him. He looks like a similar level to your Pokémon, so go ahead." he told her. Larvitar was ready, watching Sorena for her to choose her Pokémon.

Sorena was glad when they got to the man's house, especially since it relieved them from the cold mountains. Not only that, but the Pokemorph was friends with a Larvitar. The ground-type pokemon always got some respect from Sorena, because of the final form of a Larvitar, which was Tyranitar. It took a lot of work, but the last evolution was definitely a force to be reckoned with. So when the man told Sorena that the Larvitar wished to battle, she was keen to accept.
"Okay," she replied. "C'mon Swish! Use your speed as an advantage and if it tries to make a swipe at you, just dodge away and use a Sonicboom."
Her Buizel had already removed itself from Sorena's shoulders and was eager to fight another battle. Listening to what her trainer advised, Swish decided that that was a good idea. Of course, if she had learned one of her water moves, this battle would've been decided a long time ago. However, the Buizel did not and would have to, as Sorena had said, rely on her agility. The Larvitar was bound to be slow. "Bui!" Swish cried as she started the battle with a Quick Attack.

Larvitar was hit by the Quick Attack; he was, as Sorena has predicted, a slow Pokémon. He gave a low grunt of a little pain, although overall he was not that hurt. This should have been predicted, since Quick Attack was a Normal type move, and Larvitar had a resistance to Normal type moves. The little Rock type then moved in for his own attack. He used the only offensive move he knew at this stage; a Bite. This move was a strong one. It was clear that there was no way that this could possibly be an easy battle.

Knowing that none of Swish's attacks would hurt the Larvitar that badly, Sorena decided that the best thing to do was to have a distance battle. Using Sonicboom from a distance and let Swish dodge left and right would seem to be the best idea. However, the constant movement would test her Buizel's stamina. However, it would leave the Larvitar with a bunch of medium hurt and Swish with not very many. Thinking, Sorena thought about using their battle surroundings to her pokemon's advantage, but she wasn't sure if it would be counted as cheating or not.
Making a decision, Sorena ordered, "Swish! Play keep away and use Sonicboom."
Meanwhile, Swish had been jumping away from the Larvitar, although he managed to Bite her tail. Giving out a small cry, Swish quickly yanked it out and let out a Sonicboom towards the Larvitar. Not wanting to stay in one place, Swish dodged to the right and prepared to attack with a Sonicboom again.

Sonicboom attacks always deal the same amount of damage regardless of stats and types, although of course it wouldn't effect Ghost types. Larvitar, a slow Pokémon, was hit by this useful move, grunting as it slipped backwards with the force of it. That had hurt.
Larvitar growled. This wasn't a move, it was simply growling out of frustration. The Pokémon clearly wasn't too impressed by that. Larvitar came at Swish again, trying for another Bite attack.
