Name: Sorena Nicole Feather
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Dorm House Wanted: Black Mist Dorm
Class Taking: Trainer Basics
Sorena is average in many aspects. She's five feet and four inches tall, weighing about 107 pounds (so she was a bit on the lean side), and has brown eyes that are flecked with some green. This makes Sorena joke that her eyes are 'swamp-colored', although some of her friends said that her eyes were 'tree-colored'. Sorena's hair is straight except for the weird 'flick' it likes to do at the end of her hair. Her skin tone is what some would consider 'olive' (although, this confuses Sorena because she doesn't see how her skin is the color of an olive.). Although her hair appears to be a dark brown, sometimes there are random reddish brown streaks that make Sorena's hair seem shiny. Even though she's fifteen, Sorena's cheeks still seem to have some baby fat, giving her face a slightly rounder face than most. Luckily, she has some good genes from her mom's side which have kept her from getting terrible acne, although she does get the occasional zit or pimple. Her hair is usually let loose, but Sorena always has some ponytail holders on her wrist just in case she might need her hair out of the way.
Not one for dressing up, Sorena doesn't wear any jewelry and her clothing is pretty much a shirt of any color, blue jeans and tennis shoes. She's one of those types who believes in being comfortable rather than being stylish.
At a first glance, Sorena would be considered quiet, which is quite the apt description for her. The aloof type, she has a slightly standoffish stance when you approach her even though she'll have a timid smile on her face. She never really expects anyone to talk to her, so she's always kind of surprised whenever someone tries to strike up a conversation with her. Not really an avid talker unless you can find a topic that suits the two of you, most people find Sorena an awkward person to talk to. However, once you get through your first impression and keep at it, Hallie just might let you in and talk to you about other things.
Once introductions have been made and Sorena has grown used to someone's presence, she'll begin to talk more and you'll begin to see that Sorena's not as quiet or as good as you think she might be. Although she may be socially awkward, Sorena is quite good at reading other people's body language and can tell if a subject is okay with the other person or not. Not entirely selfish, Sorena will steer a topic in any way if she notices that the other person is becoming agitated by the way a conversation is going. You can try your hand at tricking or lying to Sorena, but most of the time she'll see right through you, even though she might pretend like you've tricked her just so she can avoid a confrontation.
Avoiding confrontations is the number one rule in Sorena's rulebook. If Sorena finds herself getting the slightest bit angry, she'll immediately look over the situation and decide that it's not worth getting angry about and drop the subject right then and there. Usually using humor or sarcasm to weasel her way out of awkwardness. Pride is something Hallie has decided that she can do without. In her mind, pride will make people do stupid things. To make sure she'll never get pride in the way, Sorena takes all insults as a joke and will laugh if anyone insults her. Similarly, she can't get jealous nor envious. If someone she knows gets something that Sorena herself wanted, she'll place her wants aside and be happy for the person she knows. Personally, Sorena thinks that this is because she hasn't cared that deeply about anything to get jealous over. However, she can be as stubborn as a mule and nothing can budge her from her standing. This is often helped by her impeccable ability to ignore those around her.
Sorena does not consider herself to be a great leader and prefers to be second-in-command. However, there is a leader inside her that can give orders, but unless the option is given or no one else is able to do it, Sorena will usually back down. After all, avoiding confrontations would not be able to be kept perfectly if she was a leader.
Sorena is perhaps the least traumatized kid you'll ever meet. The only way she's been damaged is by her own contemplating mind. Finding her own life excruciatingly droll, Hallie can't help but wish that her life was harder and not that easy. This can often lead to Hallie's want to get into trouble.
In the beginning... Sorena was born to a mother and a father who were married and are still married. She has an older brother, Steve, who is three years older than she is. Hallie's older brother is the complete opposite of Sorena. Steve is your typical, social, talkative and humorous guy. This often lead to people not knowing that they were related. Behind the scenes, however, Sorena thinks that Steve is the only one that she can talk to and hardly ever talked to her parents. As she sees it, her mother overreacts and her dad wouldn't take her seriously. This led to several misunderstandings between herself and her parents. So it can be considered a good thing that she had an older brother.
As the years go by... Sorena got older and at the age of ten, her family moved to a different town and she had to find new friends. Which, seeing her personality, was quite hard for Hallie to do. So, of course, Sorena's refuge became the library. The librarians became well acquainted with Sorena and she met some other fellow book lovers who quickly became her friends. Even so, it still took her a while to meet other people. Two years later, Steve set off on his own journey and Sorena was left alone with her own parents. This was not necessarily a good thing, because at home Sorena almost never talked or did anything where her parents could see her. So her presence was often forgotten. A mixed blessing in a way.
Now... Sorena's parents hardly took notice of her and so, when she brought up the idea of going to Trinity Sky Academy, they were more than happy to oblige.
