Joanna wasn't exactly sure what she was hoping to find when she pushed a small, wooden rowboat into the waters of Lake Myrn. After all, she didn't really have to look for a challenge for her and Lephise in this kind of environment; Ground and Water generally weren't very good type match-ups, so trying to fight off any kind of Pokémon that would appear here would be a challenge. Lephise himself seemed to realize that, as well.
The Gligar clung to his owner's arm with all his might, eyes shut tightly as he pushed his face into Jon's arm, just so he wouldn't have to look down at the water. What was that woman thinking, anyway?! Did she want to get him killed?! He'd never cling to people's faces again, if she could just get him out of here...
"Relax, Leppy," Joanna mumbled, groaning softly as she rowed the boat further out onto the lake. "Nothing's gonna happen. We're just gonna look for fishies, is all..."

Swimming, Swimming and more Swimming, that was all it was doing, that was all it could do. If it were outside of water there would be little it could do, though it could stand and walk about, swimming was more fun for this little pokemon. It spun in the water looking like a ninja star and twirled showing off it's elegance and grace, it was a rather interesting little fellow seeing how it was pretty much happy to show off it's beauty. It was strange to be a vanity freak without a face or gender, but this little Staryu didn't care, if anyone disagreed about it's beauty, because everyone is entitled to their opinion. Noticing a purple bat floating outside of the water Staryu went to peek out at it and without warning launched a weak and playful water gun at the pokemon.

Lephise screeched painfully as the small jet of water struck his back, the Gligar proceeding to take refuge in Joanna's jacket, his head buried deep into her shirt. The young breeder uttered a sigh. This was going to be much harder than she anticipated... Not that getting a Ground type used to water was going to be easy in the first place, but this complicated things. A lot.
"C'mon Lephise," Jon encouraged, though not really sounding very enthousiastic about it, "They're just playing with you. Don't you think otherwise they'd shot you off my shoulder, hm?"
Soft mutterings from under her jacket were Joanna's reply, and the girl sighed again, turning her attention to where she though the Water Gun came from It didn't take her very long to spot a golden, star-shaped figure in the clear water of the lake, a smile curving the young woman's lips as she managed to identify the Pokémon.
"A Staryu," Jon mused to herself, carefully reaching into her jacket to pull a shivering - and soaking wet - flying scorpion from it. "Go on, you big whimp; go circle it for a bit, see if it wants to play~"
But Lephise wasn't having any of it. The Gligar struggled fiercely in Joanna's grasp, and in the end latched onto the side of her head when she attempted to just throw him in the air. A very comical sight, most likely...

Staryu smiled as the pokemon took off into the air and it let out a playful cry as it watched the pokemon's attempt to fly. It jumped out of the water as fast as possible and shook the water off of it's tiny 5 pronged body and looked at the trainer. Though nothing was visible on the face of the pokemon seeing as it had no face to begin with. Letting out another playful blast of water into the sky while the pokemon flew in circles it was a very amusing sight. Staryu meant no harm to anyone and began to spin around as it blasted a spray of water upwards.
